Tl;dr - a shed load of emailing. In summary, I contacted 59 cinemas, with 11 responses, and 2 programming my films. Not enough? Before my campaign I had no screenings scheduled for February, afterwards, all 3 shorts were programmed twice. Something Sisyphean in there, tho I get the rock will roll

I love that everything starts to bud and bloom, that there is more colour again. And the fragrance of the flowers too 🌺 It's evidence that good things can come again, even after darker times.

Fingers crossed I can refer back to this post if or when the story has its day somewhere.

I wonder how FB and Insta abandonment will fare... We need alternative platforms, perhaps a boost of formerly popular platforms, but also a shift in operational structures away from the autocratic. People can make things terrible, but people can also repair and rebuild and, sometimes, be spectacular

as well as promoting misinfo and inflaming divisiveness. People have shown their power by leaving X. When the algorithms and moderation are concentrated in the hands of one person, that is the option left to us. Now we are accustomed to instant sharing & connection

I can see how match play might impact on readiness, but many players change up coaches and she's entitled to make those changes. I'm convinced she's got the skill and mentality, time will tell.

It's deeply frustrating. I wonder if that could be floated by some media regulators eg if Disney+ wants to be able to stream in a country it has to make available in some form programmes which subscribers funded. We still need hard copy media because this is what happens. Sigh.

And when Disney+ went so far as to remove the existing and only awesome season from their platform and then have the audacity to make a Pride section that doesn't contain Willow 🙄
