we as adults need to do better to show kids the compassion we want them to have for others.

10/10 book overall. Wonderful story, lovable characters, and a message everybody in this day & age needs to hear.

3/4 The adults in this story are unfortunately similar to how we can be in real life - hesitant to accept change and stuck in our flawed ways of thinking. There's a lot we can learn from children. They have this immense capacity for love when they aren't taught to fear those who are different;

2/4 I found myself rooting Max on with his wild plans to help Ahmed. The dynamic created between these two was wonderful to see grow. They cared for each other in a way I can only describe as a deeply human connection - they cared because people deserved to be cared for.

It’s just not the right time. I have a story in my head I’ve been working on for a while now, but it’s nowhere near the publishing stage yet.

I also just don’t want to publish my work right now. I like it being on my website for anyone. This is a passion and a hobby of mine, not for the money.
