Imagine not finishing a major work project by its deadline.

And THEN taking a week off.

And THENN still getting paid.

Madness.

Currently reading Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.

My apologies to Ms. Patchett. I didn't know how strong her game is. I thought this book would be cheesy, weepy... but I am inVESTed.

If the Dept of Defense is changing to the Dept of War, does that mean defense contractors are now war contractors? 🤔

I work with a lot of newly immigrated patients and one of my favorite things is telling them, "We're so happy to have you here in Virginia."

NEW: The Trump administration said their research did not "enhance health, lengthen life, or reduce illness."

Thousands of scientists disagreed.

We heard from +150 researchers impacted by the NIH grant terminations on what is being lost in the cuts. 🧵👇

Saw a video posted by @washingtonpost.com of National Guard using teargas on demonstrators ... and it is the weakest thing I've ever seen. It is embarrassing.

Starting off June with
- "The Push" by Ashley Audrain
- "The Utopia of Rules" by David Graeber

Also planning to revisit "The Three Body Problem." Watched it on Netflix, but committed to reading the series.

Happy reading this month #booksky 📚😎

Good morning, I am either hormonal or reliving the lasting beauty of "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" because I just cried over Ocean Vuong's interview with Oprah. OPRAH.

@washingtonpost.com and @cnn.com did not pass the vibe check for reporting ICE and local police departments' gross civil rights violations in Newark and Worcester.

Think pieces on the new Pope is not today's top story.

⭐️ 5/5

I will be reflecting on and rereading these pages for many years to come.

Through Brown-Nagin's chapters, I looked back at the Civil Rights movement, reflected on the current state of civil rights, and (worriedly) pondered what the ongoing fight for justice in the US will entail

Not even a full two chapters, but wow. What an important book for the times. Highly recommend.

Something really powerful the Pitt has done is grapple with unresolved COVID trauma in the U.S. is in a way that I haven't seen in other scripted media. It's not just acknowleding that COVID happened, but that it was painful and many of us are *still* feeling the effects of that trauma.
I mean go back to all the WPA stuff that designers fetishize. For a reason. Super aesthetic propaganda.

We just started watching The Pitt. And the embedded messages are super.

We need storytelling across all media and all channels. The wonky charts and graphs and stats aren't it.
I’m going to keep yelling my pitch that we need dramatized Netflix versions to get this done. Drive to Survive accomplished in <5 years something that people were trying to do for decades.

Also part of this belief is that we don’t need education per se: we need propaganda.

Another fantastic episode of The Pitt. It really captured the mental physical and emotional fatigue of the staff and patients.
