By the way, there are two types of interiors with the ICE3neo. You just experienced one of them, which was the least common one out of Brussels.

I guess these are the kind of things you could ask a Generative AI help with. I would say that doing a shorter TL;DR than this one page summary wouldn't do good to explain the pros and the cons.
if the question is what is MERCOSUR, the TL;DR: it's a trade deal with LatAm countries.

Thanks for this great article Jon.
It gives insights indeed to why we are not likely to see those north/(east) of France anytime soon.

Just one thing about the Siemens Desiro option, it looks like the accessible door is in the single decker only part of the train...

By the way, it’s important to note that SNCB/NMBS plans to loose revenue from ticket sales when this system will be introduced (as globally trios will be cheaper) but it hopes to quickly make up the difference by transporting more people through these new attractive tariffs !

With this new cheap discount card (giving 40% off + an extra 30% off in weekends) and the cap on tickets if you have this discount card, you will always benefit from the cheapest fare for your journey at the moment you need to travel!

I just hope they keep the Youth Holidays (unlimited)!

Today, with the “x-multi” system, one always has to break their head and make quasi actuarial calculations to know what is the cheapest option for a given journey. Especially when you consider weekend-returns or if you don’t know exactly what your future trips might look like…

Nevertheless, it will also mean that a lot of journeys will become much cheaper than currently.

Furthermore travellers will not anymore need to think:
“do I use my standard-multi, do I use a weekend ticket or do I just buy a standard ticket?”

This was announced in Parliament more than a year ago! (Nothing new to me)

And it’s a good thing. For a start, youths, pensioners and BIM, the cap on tickets will be as cheap as the current Youth-Multi (5,5€).

For adults, the cap will be slightly higher than the std-multi (14€);

Of course he would say that, when he operates Nuclear reactor in a country that overtaxes nuclear reactors, regardless of their production, and subsidises the construction of gas power plants as well as wind farms!
