Dr Brockow talked about WALDA (wheat allergy dependent on augmentation factors). cofactors: exercise, strong alcohol, less often aspirin. HWP in cosmetics may trigger later WALDA. Management: education, adrenaline, and gluten avoidance for 4 hours after the cofactors.

Dr Isabel Skypala highlighted hidden allergens (milk, sunflower seed, insects, pancakes, pasta/pizza, hemp) in idiopathic anaphylaxis. Cofactors like exercise, alcohol, and wheat amplify reactions. Never dismiss food allergy, even if it seems unlikely.

Dr. Kolkhir discussed IgE- and MRGPRX2-mediated reactions: IgE drives autoantibodies in AD/CSU; drug allergy testing is limited, often needing provocation. MRGPRX2 causes injection-site/anaphylactoid reactions. Anti-IgE therapy may aid drug administration.

Dr. Ian Sinha, a paediatric respiratory consultant, stressed how housing and environment affect our health — and can be deadly. He cited the tragic death in Lythgoe, UK: “We felt like the air in our homes was killing us, but we were told we were ‘breathing too much.’”
