On Monday's lecture as you guys may know we discussed about obscenity and broke it down to a true definition. Rather than what the definition is, what type of obscenity do you see most in your daily lives? #UWJ201 #301

In our readings we talked about the power of conspiracies in modern day news. I enjoy a good conspiracy about either sports news, TV show theories, or nonsense, but when it comes to politics I'm not a big fan. Do you find conspiracies in politics and mass media interesting/entertaining? #UWJ201 #301

In lecture this week we talked about bias in our current news. We talked/learned about how hostile bias news can be and how it can alter our self esteem. Reminds me of Mean World Syndrome. Do you think we ignore bias if it's our favor or because we are scared on how it will affect us? #UWJ201 #301

My media analysis essay had me do a deeper dive into the social media aspect of racial movements. BLM had its ups and downs, but once I started doing my research I found out about the intelligence behind some sources. Do you think sources about movements and protest can be bias? #UWJ201 #301

In the readings today, it talked about the differential in reliability in news sources. I believe that any news besides most on TV or evidence based news, are always altered a little bit. Should we stop relying on social media for news, or should we just be more careful what we consume? #UWJ201 #301

We learned that the core of Mean World Syndrome is that people develop a distorted view of reality through mass media. We’re fed stories of violence and fear, which trigger emotional responses such as anxiety and fear. To combat this, can start by questioning the content we consume? #UWJ201 #301

When it comes to being a reporter people forget the satisfaction or reward in doing the job. After reading today's article about what motivates reporters, it opened my eyes to these rewards. What would be most satisfying to you as a reporter in this day and age? For me definitely impact #UWJ201 #301

I agree 100% that balance is a key component to standards that news must meet. Of course accuracy in news is important since no one wants fake or false news, but balance can be just as important. Taking account both sides of an article/news is a huge part in accuracy and reliability. #UWJ201 #301
