My children’s primary school was a polling station. One polling day, the only election in our area was for the Police & Crime Commissioner. 415 kids lost a day of schooling & all their families had to arrange alternative care. 13 people voted.

“Yellow car, no returns!” has been a thing here in Sussex for a year or two, & I’ve seen my goddaughter & her brother in Kent low-level assault each other over it too.

A family friend lent my dad a Nixdorf, something like this, for a couple of days around 1979. I remember him telling tiny me that it was the future. In the mid-80s we had a BBC Micro at primary school and one at home. The cool kids had ZX Spectrums.
