It seems the current plan is to completely eliminate all manufacturing in the US, even final assembly on imported Chinese parts.
Just move your American factory to Mexico, get Chinese parts with no tariffs, assemble the products with cheaper labor, and then pay a 10% tariff into the US.
Saves $$$

These aren't "reciprocal tariffs". They're just trade deficit with any country as a percentage whether Billions or $100. Trump tariffs are 1/2 of that with a baseline of 10% even if we have a trade surplus.
