For our dia de muertos ofrenda this year, we finally got a picture of our dearly departed cat Lily six years after her passing. We were happy she'd finally be able to visit us after all these years. And at 5 a.m., we were woken up by a loud caterwauling outside the house.

“Trump seems to draw inspiration from the French.”

All I’m saying is he isn’t the only one.

My dumbass walked right into a sidewalk barrier this morning. I slammed my thigh into it (a few inches over, and it would've been devastating). But now my entire body aches, especially the left side of my torso, arm, neck, and spine. I hope I didn't do some real damage.

Reminder to not believe everything you read on the internet. Wikipedia says Meryl Streep's portrayal of the Chief Elder in 2014's The Giver is the first & only time she's played a male character. But in the film, the character is female. In 2003's Angels in America, however, she plays a male rabbi.

My husband was reading a book of Latin American folktales with my daughter and the “evil light” was mentioned as well… only the buried treasure was actually funerary urns and bones. The book suggests the tale goes back to Europe (will o’ the wisp) and could be caused by natural phenomena.

There is a section in Bram Stoker’s Dracula about blue flames visible in the fields at night, which mark the location of buried treasure. It reminded me of a similar story my grandfather told me. I wondered how a poor farmer from the borderlands would’ve known this legend. Then, today, I read this:

I immediately thought of the Chipmunk Adventure when the Chipettes go scuba diving to find the Chipmunk dolls their benefactors are using to smuggle diamonds and cash around the world.

It feels like they want me to believe this was like some brave stealth mission that was highly strategized. And like… no.

My daughter has striking blue eyes, while mine are very dark brown, nearly black. The other day she was wondering what I'd look like with blue eyes, so I *reluctantly* ran a photo of me through AI. The prompt was: "Give this man blue eyes." This is the result... What in the Mexican Ryan Gosling?

Any ideas why the AP keeps rate limiting me and asking to prove I'm not a robot? I tick the box, then it just loops back an asks me again—or it gives me the 1015 error (temporary ban)?

I am not sure I understand what these two articles are telling me…

The OBBB will increase deficits by $2.4 trillion over 10 years, while tariffs will cut deficits by $2.8 trillion over 10 years?

Or are they both talking about the same thing, but one of them is wrong?

What am I missing?

I might've mentioned before, but if it weren't for the green eyes, your Francie would be a dead-ringer for my dear Lily (d. 2018). Here's a photo from 2009 that I think proves my point.

In my previous corporate life, they said I was indispensable, so I worked thru lunch, nights, weekends, holidays & rarely took a sick day. I worked through tough illnesses, which often resulted in lasting ailments like bronchitis. Co-workers giggled at the familiar biohazard symbol taped to my desk.

Take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know: openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac...

I took this years ago & the top match was Hurley from Lost. He's still on the list, just lower down this time. Not pleased with the inclusion of Arthur Weasley, but I'm 💯 Waymond Wang.

So here's where we're at with airfare about two months out... And you still have to account for bag fees, economy vs economy+, etc. So we're looking at like $5,000+ for the trip back home this summer. Also doesn't factor food, lodging, driving, insurance, AND my BIL's wedding in Mexico. 😩

Seriously, Judy Blume?? First, my daughter's traumatized because Fudge ATE Peter's pet turtle. And now I had to skip an entire chapter of Superfudge because Peter thinks his 6 year old brother needs to learn the "truth" about Santa Claus?! Sheesh!
