I’ve been elected to be in charge of Outreach in my neuro PhD program’s student leadership board. My first goal for holding this position is to organize and host one of these. Public outreach is critical now more than ever.
Our goal is to have 1000 SUFS Teach Ins across the US, by 9/30.

*GASP* 😮

We know, it's a big goal.

If you've received tax dollars for your science, you have a responsibility to inform *your* community what is at stake: public health, the economy, innovation, and America's global leadership.

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

Dear Black people, REST is an act of resistance against White Supremacy. They want us activated. Their plan doesn’t work if we don’t bite. They are getting desperate. Keep resting, keep dancing, keep healing and learning and finding joy. The universe is working it all out.

"Children are dying from a disease we already eliminated. We know how to stop it—vaccinations. But this outbreak is not slowing down as it’s fueled by falsehoods and mistrust and compounded by a lack of strong leadership."

So sad but true.
It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.

Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

So heartbreaking for everyone involved and those in need.
Continuing the day's terrible news . . . NSDUH was a critical source of information about prescription drug use and misuse . . . you know, kind of an important topic over the past decade (e.g., opioids, benzos, stimulants)
The entire National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) team at SAMHSA was terminated today.

Do not listen to the platitudes of this administration when they say they care about drug overdose, addiction, mental health, or suicide.
