After a break of a couple of weeks, this small painting, Japanese Moon, is now complete. A few final collage elements were added to vary the surface and gently disrupt the composition. It now feels finished.

Insensitive, tone deaf, embarrassing, offensive, and dystopian. I could go on, but this is one of the most shocking things I've ever seen from the Irish Government and that says a lot.
Government video on how to cope with moving back in with parents slammed as 'dystopian'
“Is this Waterford Whispers?,” was the immediate reaction from one Opposition TD.

'Removal Men.' (c1955) Clifford Rowe’s painting shows how committed he was to portraying labour with dignity, turning work into something quietly romantic. You can see his socially-minded beliefs, social values, and collective identity, too.

The evening light in Piet Mondrian’s 'The Tree,' (c1908) flattens the forms, and the muted tones reveal the influence of his evolving artistic philosophy. In time, he would move beyond nature reducing his art to a rectilinear grid of black on white accented with primary colours.

'Lunch,' was painted in the spring of 1918 and shows Harold Harvey's increasingly vibrant, highly decorative style of work. One of the finest interior paintings of his home in Newlyn, Cornwall; from the choice of clothes to the Egyptian wall-hanging, the painting sings colour.

Great news from Moldova, where the party of President Maia Sandu has won an overall majority🇷🇴🇪🇺

Pro-EU parties got about two-thirds of votes despite rampant Kremlin interference in the election, which ranged from bribery and disinformation to bomb threats at polling stations.

Well done Moldova👏🎆🥂
The Pro-European PAS party has secured 51 seats, an absolute majority in Moldova’s parliament.

A good result and a slap in the face for Putin.
