More like the conquest and colonization of the Americas, completely ignoring the existing claims of the indigenous civilizations, which we recognize now, because hindsight is apparently not only 20/20 but also impossible to generalize to inform us in a current situation....

I actually like the current system. In the school system, it's important to me that kids can get up and get to the bus in daylight as much as possible, but once the sun is rising super early, I prefer to have that extra time in the evening rather than in the morning. Just my $0.02.
