This is yesterday's discourse and I’m just 1 book in, but other authors have been my saving grace this year and I feel like NAMING NAMES (of good people) and NAMING BOOKS (that you should read/give to all your friends for the holidays) right now 1/
My only thing I'll add on the publishing discourse/drama... easily the most worthwhile and rewarding part of having a publishing career for me has been meeting and making friends with other writers. This is a career where wins can be far apart, my writer peeps make it worth it.

A planthopper nymph (Colombia). Why the fiber-optic butt? I've read various reasons - so they're an unpalatable mouthful, to help them glide, to disguise them as being infected by fungus, and because the fibers are hydrophobic, to keep the honeydew they secrete from sticking to their body. #ento 🐙 🌿
