a lot of, most of, the current anti-LGBT and particularly transphobia is just off label antisemitism, the idea of a vast conspiracy, corrupting your children and society more generally to destroy the traditional way of life is classic antisemitism just being retooled to target trans people.

When I first came across that article a couple years ago, I had actually assumed it was written as satire of the current anti-trans moral panic, before I realised it was unironic and written almost a decade earlier.

If I never hear a politician use the phrase "common sense" again, I could die happy.

I've been saying for a while; argue long enough with a right winger and it becomes clear they aren't ignorant. They know more about us than the vast majority of liberals. They put on that front but then will respond to specific arguments with the correct counter. They are malicious.

More needs to be done to call out "social conservatism" as the misogyny and bigotry towards LGBT people it is. It shouldn't be seen an acceptable position to hold in society.

This is part of the problem - zero pushback. Because as soon as someone says something that stupid, there should be a microphone in their face going "Explain, in detail, how you think that works. Because what you said is biologically impossible and completely untrue."

TERFs, given the opportunity, would literally exterminate trans people.

They are now and have always been Nazis. The original nazis killed trans people first as well, and also promoted “traditional gender roles”.

TERFs being giddy about suffering is no shock.
