Do you not believe raped women because they're lying sluts who wanted it and are just trying to take a good man down, or do you not believe women because they're traumatized and can't be trusted to interpret their own experience? These are different paths to the came conclusion.

The rape victim's perspective—particularly about rape itself—is judged, under this vision of "trauma," as untrustworthy. If experience can be a kind of informing expertise, "trauma" now is an experience that epistemically degrades the subject—one that makes her less competent.

The U.S. needs to use every lever of power to pressure the Israeli government to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, stop the targeting and killing of Palestinians seeking food, and bring an end to this slaughter once and for all.
