You ruined pain au chocolat even strawberries taste bitter now but I've been heartbroken before so I know that one day not today but one day in the future that looks so unclear to me now I will eat a strawberry and I won't even think of you until later that evening or a few days down the road when I realize what I've done like the cigarettes I smoked for 20 years that I don't crave anymore only realizing days, weeks after hard things that I didn't even want one in that awful moment and even in this lack of you I don't even want one I don't even want you I just want to enjoy pain au chocolat in the sunshine with my coffee without thinking about your face

Sketch got a new bath mat.

Now the household humans need a new bathroom because we are not invited to the party.

Took myself to Allan Gardens Conservatory for some plant therapy.

This turtle is my "before" picture.

Yesterday was Day 10 of Make Art Every Day 2025.

I stumbled across this beauty by Sara Rian and it inspired me to write my own version of grief's point-of-view.

I might share it one day, but for now, I'm keeping it for me.

And paying this one forward.

I'm reading Neruda's Book of Questions as if it is a box of the finest gourmet chocolates, as if I am a mature adult capable of savouring only a nibble--only a poem or two--at a time.

I am not.

Today I indulged in half a dozen, and then took a nap with the cat.

Little luxuries. Food for the soul.

It's Day 8 of Make Art Every Day 2025.

Today I woke up and wrote 500 words of a story that's been stuck for so long I thought it would stay in the swamp forever.

Now it has new life.

This arty experiment is already working.

Day 7 of Make Art Every Day 2025

These artistic sidequests are really helping me keep my head up this week.

Today is the first day I got my hands dirty.

I found modelling clay at the dollar store this afternoon and decided to make a drainage tray for my plant friends.

TBD: How to decorate it.

Day 6 of Make Art Every Day 2025

When life spills your ink, grab a paintbrush and make art with it.

So when I poured ink on my desk while trying to fill my new pen, that's what I did.

I don't know if it's done.

I do know an accident became an artistic adventure.

There's poetry in that.

Day Three of Make Art Every Day 2025

Today I D&D-ified my writing so I can "roll for inspiration."

Then I rolled some Storycubes and rambled with them.

I guess I made two things today, but this is not a productivity challenge.
