And I’m not even saying all art has to have a serious message to convey. Really non-sensical, non-serious forms of art are just as entertaining because of the human factor. Smiling Friends is a popular absurdist show because it’s created by humans wanting to make other humans laugh.

AI takes away the very reason why art is enjoyable. I don’t care about seeing a piece of art that was created in a millisecond from a prompt given to a computer because it lacks reason for its presence. There’s no message. No reason for its presence.

You hang up your child’s scribbly drawing of a dragon on the fridge, not because it was made quickly and efficiently, but because you feel connected to your child’s ability to create and want to share it.

We see people’s fingerprints all over the art we consume. We understand that there is a message being conveyed-a connection that is trying to take hold from human to human.

A regular person had an idea for a non-liner exploration game that you can only really play once. A team of people created the environment, the story beats, the music, the coding, the character design, so much went into this project and so many people love it because it was born from human desire.

I just finished playing through Outer Wilds and it’s DLC. THAT is an experience that I will forever treasure. Not just because of how good of a game it is, but because of how much creativity, ingenuity, patience, and work I know must have gone into creating something like that.

Requiem is one of the greatest games I’ve ever played!
