and so you don't have to pretend to care either! if they're going to be the too big to fail awards, the "we represent what most people want and there's nothing you can say or do about that" awards then you are free to ignore them and/or treat them with as much disdain and hostility as they deserve!

like Spotify has basically taken over the entire music industry and almost everyone i know hates it on a profound and deep level

i don't know how you can pretend in this day and age given our general state of society that something with a huge amount of money and resources put behind it into making it The Big Thing represents some kind of organic bottom-up popularity

almost all my game students play or have played Roblox and/or Genshin Impact too and judging by most of their responses to it, they tend to actively resent it more than anything else. it's just been the thing that is popular.

sadly my tolerance is a lot higher than it used to be. at the expense of some chunk of my soul

trying not to be overwhelmingly negative but especially at this point there are a ton of games and things to engage with that aren't part of this dumb spectacle so i just don't really know why it's necessary to pretend this stuff is important

being in games world is just an endless series of "you can't possibly expect me to take this seriously?" and then yes, being always expected to take those things very seriously. enough already lol

nothing can ruin your day more than an utterly miserable football game you just wasted a bunch of time watching. even if it's something you have on in the background, it just ruins your day.
