Joining the @openuniversity.bsky.social’s conference today on “Shifting Power in Language Learning and Applied Linguistics with GenAI” - really excited to talk about a new line of research and to learn from colleagues who grapple with #AI and #power in language education #appliedlinguistics

It’s a thing that went viral. Absolutely ridiculous. It’s chocolate filled with pistachio cream. Not more not less. Sold in bakeries as donuts, in supermarkets as chocolate bars or even on the ski hut as I saw recently. 😂 🙈 💲

Nice way to end the year with an accepted chapter “Ethnographic approaches to discourse”. 🙏 This one was somehow really hard to write and think through as both fields DA and ethnography are so eclectic and diverse #appliedlinguistics #discourse #ethnography

A really strong and important Spiegel article by Ruth Wodak about the pronounced growth of authoritarian political regimes in Austria and Germany, supported by strategies of normalising populism, antisemitism, disinformation, human rights violations, discrimination and the likes.
