Okay, I’m back!

I’m a Denver dude who loves to eat all the things and travel to connect with different cultures. I started Widefoc.us Social Media, in 2007. I’ve written books, had a blog about being a single dad (datingdad.com), am working on an epic novel, and write odes at Denverlicious.com.

Denverlicious is short odes to the best food and cocktails in Denver — currently and historically. They're overwrought quick hit paeans about my all-time favorite Colorado dishes and drinks.

Whoa.
The only thing Charlie Kirk had in common with Jesus is that Christians get mad when you quote him to them.

If anything, the shooting shows that trans people need *more* support, not less - and certainly not to be marginalized by society.

This is just straight up totalitarian. This demand that nobody ever say anything potentially alienating to Midwestern apes lest the fascist right might turn it into a political issue, is without realizing, the same thing the fascists are. A complete submission of civil society to the partisan agenda
It would be a huge step forward for Democrats and for general clarity in political writing if these terms went away. These came mostly from academic hothouses.

Unpopular opinion, but I’m not sure a gerrymander escalation is good for democracy. I’d rather see Dems descend on Texas and fight the new maps legally then fight for every vote on the ground if the new districts get approved. We have a strong story vs Trump’s incompetent regime right now.

Hey friends, my company (WideFoc.us) had TWO inbound leads who said they found us via ChatGPT. Here’s a cool resource we put together about AI optimization #AIO so your brand shows up when people are looking for the answers you can provide - then you can turn them into customers.

AIO is the New SEO: Smarter Content Drives Visibility
Buyers aren’t browsing search results anymore. They’re asking AI tools for answers — and AI pulls from content that’s easy to read, straight to the point, and actually useful.

Yes. This. Be a public example of virtue whenever you can.
Really was one of the dumbest and most harmful things possible for “virtue signaling” to become some kind of epithet. Sending externally visible signals that you are engaging in pro-social behavior is normal, natural, and good, it’s how society works. Other people can’t read your fucking mind.

Little acts of kindness can make a big impact.
Among other things, Texas campers lost beloved stuffed animals in the catastrophic floods.

The Lost Stuffy Project is trying to replace the treasured toys, blankets and other comfort items that were carried away by the raging Guadalupe River.

I picked up Moonbound because Andrew mentioned it in an email - and it turned out to be one of my favorite books, ever. Read it!
Robin Sloan's fantastic novel Moonbound is now out in paperback! It was one of my favorite books of 2024, and it's an astonishing, gripping, and imaginative read.

You know - I always thought RFK Jr was a crackpot, but I didn’t think he was an out and out murderer. But he’s obviously okay with actual people dying from this decision.
When Americans raised concerns about RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine views, he said he was "not gonna take away vaccines from anybody."

But now he's taking them away from millions of mommas and babies.

Vaccine recommendations should be based on science, not RFK Jr.'s political agenda.
