Free spirit, loves literature, Bell Shakespeare fan. Roosters fan. Currently exploring my ancestors. Geneology is my addiction.
Books: I purchased myself a Fiction Book Advent Calendar for this December. So far it’s an interesting
selection for the first 5 days. I will now have 64 books in my TBR pile.
Loving that, if I find any I’ve already read - I will gift them to family.

In Australia, pretty much most nights thunderstorms and lightning.
Ordered pizza delivery was by bike. I mentioned the weather as it was off in the distance - but it will come closer. All I could say is please be safe.

Watching The Ashes Rugby League 2025. A hat trick is a great victory for Australia.
Reece Walsh sure knows how to sidestep the opposition. All the players did exceptionally well. 🇦🇺🏈🏈🏈

2. I’m left leaning, always have been. But because of my age, if I even open my mouth in a conversation with the younger generation on politics, I get shut down. So journaling has become the only voice I’m allowed to have. I’m only useful if they need union intervention at work.
1. Journaling for me started after a car accident. But about a year in and I was boring myself. So I started writing in journals from a philosophical stance. There is always something happening in the world that needs your attention. The more you apply yourself the more you learn. Your voice.

Journaling in my planner. In the notes section beginning each month I choose to auto-pick a section from ancient philosophers to maintain my critical thinking. This month it was Descartes, I needed this one so much. Reflecting on beliefs and are they valid. Dystopian times have to be reflected on.

#AustralianFederalElection 👻 I voted today in the pre-polling. Went shopping & caught a taxi home. The taxi driver said who did you vote for. I said I always vote for the politician who serves the general population (the workers and the vulnerable). Go Labor.

#AnzacDayDawnService 👻 In 1 hour at Sydney, in 2 hours at Canberra, in 8 hours at Gallipoli Cove, in 9 hours at Villers-Bretonneux, France.

#RetailCheckoutsAustralia 👻 At K-Mart the registers are in the middle of the store, mainly self checkout, so they do checkout receipts at the door. But it’s quite respectful. At grocery stores I go through the checkout, I don’t do self checkout for OH&S reasons.

Many people are connected to their work email on their phone. Smart watches may be problematic too. The tourism industry will suffer. Maybe travel in our own countries to help with tourism until we understand what is happening.
LOL. LMAO because I want to cry.
We don't even let City of Portland employees travel outside the US with their City devices. This is just infosec 101 stuff. Our foreign policy is being run by the dumbest motherfuckers alive.

An Ocean of Minutes by Thea Lim is a dystopian novel set in America. There was a wall at the Southern border to keep people in. It was eerie reading that book. But at the moment it seems more realistic.

A taxi driver once remarked about a protest, a waste of time and they are just laughing at you. Find their Achilles heel, hint it is always money and boycott their business was his answer. Protest is still vital.
Please help spread the word! 💙

Watching UTube reaction to Stan Walker singing Kanye West “Ultra light Beam”. Brilliant, his voice has always been a magical experience.

I like to journal but not so much about myself. Most topics on this are about this, and today I found a tutorial on journaling like a writer. Also in the past if I am unsure, generally I just choose a word and its definition and the work just flows.

@barbrastreisand.bsky.social I also think all women and men should journal all they see and hear. Since they are heading into perilous times with no safety net. Don’t rely only on the writers and artists to be the only historian.

#SBSAustralia I’ve just seen an add posted about how the current global Internet culture can influence our youth to disrespect others, mainly women. It is not just youth who are influenced. Timing is good, starting now rather than trying to catch up after the damage has escalated. Great work.

#JohnSteinbeck was a prolific author. I watched a documentary on his life and times as an author. I also purchased his book “The Grapes of Wrath”. It is on my next to read list, especially given the current social and political climate.

This is the team I follow. Best wishes for the 2025 season. 🏈🏈🏈

#CurrentRead: Devotion - Hannah Kent.
#FutureTBR: The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck.

Given our current climate it is no surprise at my book choice.
