While tattoos are still becoming publicly acceptable, they have existed for thousands of years, and in a lot of places you wouldn’t expect. Some of the monarchs of the Belle epoch were tattooed, such as Tsar Nicholas II, George V, and Princess Waldemar of Denmark!

Today in 1987: Dinosaur Jr released their classic sophomore album You're Living All Over Me. Distributed by Greg Ginn's (Black Flag) legendary SST label, YLAOM saw them embrace a more traditional indie rock sound. The result was a classic that influenced bands like Modest Mouse, Weezer, and Nirvana.

In 1784, Venezuelan Catholics asked if they could register a new animal to be eaten during Lent. They claimed it spent most of its time in the water, had webbed feet, and tasted delicious. The Vatican granted its request, and since then, Capybaras have been considered fish to the Church!
