Very important to understand that electric vehicles won’t solve this particular problem. Ultimately, we’re going to need to find ways to reduce car trips overall.
"Every year, billions of vehicles worldwide shed an estimated 6 million tonnes of tire fragments. These tiny flakes of plastic, generated by the wear and tear of normal driving, [account] for 28% of microplastics entering the environment globally."

Tiny flakes of plastic, generated by the wear and tear of normal driving, eventually accumulate in the soil, in rivers and lakes, and even in our food.

Due to varying labour and electricity prices, the cost to produce cells will vary greatly across Europe.

Therefore, the trade off between labour/electricity costs, and manufacturing know how is critical to cost competitive production.

Week one: from fossil fuel colouring books to Ronaldinho

“Gazprom is not the first gas company to advertise to children via colouring books. In 2011 the Canadian fossil fuel company Talisman Energy produced a book featuring a dinosaur called “Talisman Terry, your friendly Fracosaurus”.”

The stickiness of the IRA is a feature, not a bug. More than 3/4 of announced IRA clean energy investment is going to Republican districts. In a close house, it won't take many votes to thwart a repeal of manufacturing tax credits.
