And writing from the place of pain, fear, raw emotion has brought me to a new genre: horror.

In the summer of 2020 I was chronically on Twitter and a local librarian posted looking for reqs for a visit to my hometown. That connection eventually became a very close friendship-They are a brother to me. This week, he paid his own way to Mexico to help me get my beloved dog home to Canada.

So I saw one of these on a patio over the weekend and am now obsessed. In English this is a ring tail or ring tailed cat but they call them Cacomixtles in Spanish (in English Cacomixtle refers to these little guys' slightly bigger southern cousins) Image courtesy of the @sierraclub.org
