I think we as a field would actually be happier if we all collectively admitted that things are very bad right now, instead of pretending that everything is fine, and that all of us will somehow be the lucky ones.

Last time I did a lecturey course, I spent 8-10 hours for 3 hours of lecture. So a little less, but I kept things easy for myself by sticking closely to the textbook. Two of those hours each week were just for reading the book chapter.

My thinking here is that most videos are made for an audience that's watching the screen, and extra brain space will be spent on using the audio context to follow what's happening. But I guess they're not all like that, so use your best judgement.

Hey man please don't watch (or listen to) videos while driving. Your fellow drivers and pedestrians really want you to be focused exclusively on the road.

That's right! This one is from 1928, and is a Singer 99 I believe. I bought it from the daughter of the original owner who bought it new. :)
