One attitude driving MAGA policy is the failure to accept the reality of interdependence. Slapping tariffs, shunning NATO, cutting USAID rely on disbelieving that we're connected across nations. Cutting FEMA, Dept of Ed, etc: we're connected across states. SocSec: we're connected across generations.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but when people say that AI is their "thought partner" I wonder how to have a thought partner that cannot think (or feel, or communicate with intention). What appears to be thought is an illusion that only achieves meaning through the human interpreting it.
