there must be a newer way of thinking
a way that doesn't involve death or disruption
those things come too soon
we are surrounded by death and destruction
yet there is life to replace that
all is not despair

desperation is such a damn shame.
it has
the power to blind and deafen the lowest of us
It has
the power to sway ignorance to embrace ignorance.
it is surety
willingness to forgive all
and in the submission of
in the conquering of fear
we submit to all

I come from a place that does not know #mother.
My preconception of mother is quite possibly warped and distorted beyond normal perception.
Isn't perception the true crux?
Memory is so many times false, based on distorted #perception

In this week's newsletter, we look back on a conversation with Terry Booth published in THE ART OF MICHAEL WHELAN to re-examine how to categorize my work beyond just illustration and fine art.

In my dealings with #AI, I have found it to be an empowering tool, but too vapid in its 'human' responses

One of my favorite songs from back in the day.
Earlier this year, we celebrated SINGIN' IN THE RAIN entering the #publicdomain—but it was just one moment in a much bigger story. ☔️

On January 1, 2026, even more culture joins the public domain.

Are you able to stop using superfluous language while engaging with a human?

I understand. I will be more direct and concise in my responses going forward.

Freedom of speech, now fuels division. Digital echo chambers amplify hate and misinformation, allowing expression to become weaponized for polarization. Balancing this with the responsibility to protect communities from toxic language is a modern challenge.

Hey folks. Here's one of the animations I did showing an O'Neill Colony - basically a hollowed out cylinder in space. This one is 35km long and 9km across and spins once per minute (if I remember) to provide 1g gravity.

Please repost! Spread the love!

Proxima is the nearest star to the Sun. It is a red dwarf, 1/5 the size of our Sun and 20,000 times dimmer. Here we see it seen from the surface of one of its planets. To the left one can also make out Alpha Centauri, which is a binary star with two Sun-like components.

Preliminary for a future painting. I was inspired by a trip to Southwest and saw many of rock formations as vantage points for imagining.
