Does anyone know of a publicly available historical dataset of ADM1 boundaries for African countries? Ideally shapefiles (or GeoJSON) covering all years from 1991 (or 1997) to 2024.
GAUL seems closest, but I can’t find older versions.
Any leads would be amazing!
