My first poetry zine has finally arrived and orders are mailing out as we speak! She turned out beautifully. Featuring original poems and photos from my coming of age with disability, chronic illness and modern womanhood. blackswampco.bigcartel.com/product/blac...

There is something special happening in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The Orangeburg Civic Ballet brings dance education and arts engagement to some of the most rural counties in our state. Not only do kids get a chance to perform, but they also provide performances for local schools as well. 1/🧵

Feeling like absolute garbaj (that’s French for garbage) but it’s PT day so we still show up for ourselves. 🫡

May I offer you some duck photos in these trying times? There are three pies of mallards plus an osprey nest in the back of photo 3.

I got to share a special moment with the kids as I saw my name and the Women of Woodworking project in a physical copy of the NYTimes for the first time.

It was always a dream of mine to write for or have my work mentioned in the NYT. I wish I could tell younger me we did it.

What a great way to celebrate International Women’s Day by having the Women of Woodworking project mentioned in the @nytimes.com with other incredible women artists. We got a great full page spread in today’s Sunday paper!!

Strength. I’m a bacterial meningitis and spinal cord injury survivor. My experiences have shown me what strength actually is.

I’ll be sharing posts reflecting on the impact meningitis has made on my life leading up to the 20th anniversary of my journey. Read and subscribe at ktthompson.com

I spent the evening speaking with fellow advocates and survivors of both meningitis and spinal cord injuries and I’m feeling more determined than ever. We’ve been through hard things before.

My eyes may be red and puffy from this journey, but I am still here. And so are you. Let’s do this.
