We made a film! This is such a brilliant, complex, simple, nature restoration project. Can you help us find a sponsor to turn it from experiment into practice? 🌲🐂 www.galbraithgroup.com/our-services...

Thank you to the kind folks who took time to review my book Herryea Forest recently - it's much appreciated and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! If you haven't read it yet why not give it a try? you don't need to be/have a child to enjoy an adventure and learn something about forests! amzn.eu/d/48CyrYM

I've been hunting for a few years: have I found Edinburgh's greatest chimera cherry? (Hutchinson Crossway) 🍒🩷🤍

What is the origin of the Easter Bunny, the word 'Easter', and Easter eggs?

If you are curious about the scholarly answers, which were to me surprising, I highly recommend episode 5 of the excellent "Data over dogma" - on this link, or on your podcast platform.

Messing about in boats on Sunday in the Clyde. Summer has arrived in Scotland! Thanks to the wonderful C&C Divers team for all the help, training and photos. And we saw dolphins 😃🐬 The white rose shaped thing is sea lemon eggs 🦑

A treat on my walk to work; haven't seen a flock of redwings for ages ☺️

Brilliant catching up with @woollymaggot.bsky.social today and his amazing cows in trees. It felt more like a safari than a visit to a forest/farm.

I'm glad it's not just me that's confused - Google thinks the UK's emissions are 5 metric tonnes 😂

Yesterday I saw the brilliant "Three Words for Forest", a verbatim-play-film using foresters' real words. It distilled perfectly my own experience of coming into forestry and discovering the wealth of knowledge and passion in our industry. Congratulations Rachel Clive and @deeheddon.bsky.social!

... perhaps not far from the mythical Herryea. Now it's going to store carbon under my bed, hopefully for at least as long again as it stood in the wood, while its children grow up.

Love a short and circular supply chain. 🌲🪵🛌
I've finally found a joiner to build my fitted bedroom, and he is bringing me timber which very recently would have stood in a forest ...

So your new house, kitchen units, or food shop (pallets) which all use Scottish timber might have helped support homes and food for these guys. Photos I took at Kirroughtree Forest at new year.

Celtic Connections is underway 😍🤠🎻
I loved the creative Finnish fiddles Frigg, and always such a thrill to have a night out in Glasgow!

Drysuit course with my pal Simon.

Day 1 all (except the view of snow-capped Arran) wrong: regulator, fins, BCD hose, suit leaked, freezing 😨🥶

Day 2 normal diving service resumed, found the right kit, had lots of fun and got to stand by the squid!🧜‍♀️🦑

Doing my drysuit course homework, which will make me look as cool as this guy 🤣🦑

The Martyrs Monument, near where in 1685 two women aged 63 and 18 were swallowed by the tide, refusing to recant their Covenanting faith. We were just swallowed by darkness.

Mediaeval but rebuilt Cruggleton Church. Sorry not to see the interesting interior but what a place as dusk fell!

St Ninian's Chapel, Isle of Whithorn, founded c1100 and rebuilt c1300. Was this huge south-facing window stained glass I wonder? 🌈🌈🌈

Made a friend in Glasserton kirkyard. I love its moss eyelashes and lichen nose
