Let this tragedy spur us to action, not mire us in defeat. There's still time to save the other 1,600+ endangered species in Europe -- and the 16,300+ worldwide. We must reduce our climate impact and preserve their habitats now, or announcements like this will only become more and more frequent.
well, here it is lads

after combing through some 1,400 records, it looks like the slender-billed curlew is indeed extinct and the last known photo taken in 1995 was probably at the point it slipped beneath the waves 🦉🧪
