Child #2 showed my husband the picture she drew of me (left). It made him much less impressed with the picture she drew of him (right). He asked why he looks like a scarecrow and she told him “you’re wearing a scarecrow costume” 😅

MSU says that trust is best built in small moments, which is my saving grace as a foster parent. Bio families and I aren’t set up to trust each other from the moment their children come into my home. I try to earn their trust in the small things instead.
