Good experience in how added damage can end up being a lot.

If you want a good game that's made by Obsidian, you gotta try out Pentiment, but it is def a different thing than this, I don't think it was really a fluke but making bigger budget games instead of smaller experimental ones I think is what's causing these games to feel formulaic

rather than used as a whole thing (just using mechanics rather than setting basically) in that way, it is successful I would say.

But to go back to what I mentioned earlier, I fail to picture the Draw Steel "style" when I read this, i'm basically told what it does and what it is, its very much closer to a manual than it is to something else, that works as well especially if your game is made to be used on its own

The game reads fine, stuff is laid out in big clear blocks of text, but I have little in the way of like, imagination coming up when I read it, its hard for it to paint a specific VIBE, it feels less like imagining possibilities and more about reading what they are.

And that's fine

Now compare it to Draw Steel, and I wanna put in a clear signal here: I don't think this makes it a bad game, I just think their priority were elsewhere more likely, and that's fine enough of a reason, the art in this game is also really good i'll say, and its functional (i mean this as a positive)

Its all about conveying the feel of paperwork while telling that you can gut a creature with a knife, i think that's cool and super thematic, and it helps picture what a game of DG is about

Another one I think is kinda understated because of how it looks has to be Delta Green, the folks who actually work on the font and layout over there know EXACTLY that they wanted to convey to you the most boring office job possible... for investigating lovecraftian horrors

The art of course, helps but it also conveys both information and tells you how to run this with so little, its just amazing really

This can be fine, but generally I prefer games on my end that sell me on what they try and feel like, which is hard as hell to do.

But like once again, I HAVE to point out Mothership is one of the bests out there when it comes to it, perfect example of something that is legible and has style

Thinking about this because while Draw Steel has like, good art and looks functional, by god does the way pages are laid out and the info told is like, just dry
