One way to look at this film - and the way I teach it - is as another of Hitch's cautionary tales for women against succumbing to domesticity. Credit Alma for this throughline in his major films & note how both of his pics w/Tippi end w/her "married"... and catatonic. Also "birds" = "girls" in UK.
