Just under a month ago I was full of anticipation for a new cricket season.
Last weekend & tomorrow the women’s season begins; new & exciting one day cup.
I hope anticipation is widely felt again.
Be certain county game must have women’s & men’s games strong, real purpose & entertaining.

With the “no-brainer” expansion of the Hundred. It seems inevitable that the red and white ball domestic competitions will soon be seen as distinct sports with few cross-over players so they can be played in the same months. In reality a two-tier system. (I am not saying this is good). 1/2

Here we go. The first franchise totally owned by an entity with zero stake in any other part of the domestic game. When all 8 go this way, the ECB will have created a highly financed competitor to the other competitions, not the advertised lifeline.
