I need less effusive emojis for Teams, like "I'm mildly amused" or "that's kind of a bummer". These crazed, animated spheres of intensity are way too melodramatic to represent any feelings that I might have at work.

AYFKM? In the last week I've seen two separate people in wheelchairs riding in a busy road with cars screaming past because they had no sidewalk to ride on. Has anyone who voted Columbus for this poll ever left the midwest?

Is there a part of the country/world where concert goers stand further from the stage and are less effusive than central Ohio? We're really good at it.

Note to self: when measuring ingredients for stir fry sauce, it's best to put your cocktail very far away from the container you're working with, lest your drink become a mushroom dark soy sauce old fashioned.
Could that be a thing? I checked, it's not.

Until I bought a house with a yard I needed to maintain, I never would have guessed that gardening is like 10% planting and nurturing plants and 90% the wholesale murder and destruction of any other plants.

I let the cats out before I noticed there were a couple of big fat possums in the backyard. This is Lemmy and one of them regarding each other, after which the possums continued to snuffle around while Lemmy supervised.

Look at this a-hole flaunting his life of leisure in my bed while I'm getting ready for work so I can buy more kibble and litter.

I read the first part of this news alert from the AP and got a little thrill before I saw that he's leaving the Senate, not this mortal plane.

One last meal at the Happy Greek before they close tomorrow. Located around the corner from my office, I've had their Avgolemono for lunch more times than I can count. ☹️

The 1977 hit "Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione is among the stickiest earworms for my obstinate brain. This is gonna be a long news cycle.

At least the shooting didn't happen on Baker Street, then I'd be fucked...

The massive amount of resources and hours being used to look for the shooter of a single CEO doesn't exactly contradict the argument that the police exist to protect the rich.

I suppose if I were trying to avoid being Whammageddoned, we shouldn't have gone out for Vietnamese food.

Search "concert" and post the oldest pic in your camera roll.

Oh, a nice surprise! Ennio Morricone with the Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta playing the main square in Krakow in 2007.

It seems we are already losing sight of the fact that a handful of billionaires effectively turned our information ecosystem into a Superfund site, no one knows how to clean up the mess, and simply telling the truth and hoping people find it is woefully insufficient

I sprained my ankle and came down with a cold yesterday. As if that wasn't bad enough, I think there was an election or something...

At least I have a good excuse to stay home and wallow today.

PSA for super pettable kitties: We've switched up our usual kibble purchase because our senior cat has been having joint pain and suddenly all 3 of them are super silky and soft! I didn't know that was a thing, but I've since looked into it - high protein and omega 3 oils make a dramatic difference.

Scientists had better hurry up and figure out how to fix old people entropy, because I'm getting there and I'm not into it.

If I had to be stuck on a cruise ship for a month with the attendees of a conference, I think the Public Library Association folks would be a solid bet. Honestly, I can't think of another conference that doesn't sound like a nightmare...
