As a developer and architect, who lived in a 1949 dekalb house built at 800sf, expanded to 1,008, I find it absolutely insane we have a minimum unit size. It just hurts housing availability. Makes it harder to provide starter, and downsize homes, and increases the barriers of entry for homeowners.

I think it would be an interesting review of this work, to understand how much of it was used to drive vehicle centric safety rather than pedestrian safety. Did the push for safer cars make us create terrible cities to live in?

I’d also say not a lot of D’s are thrilled to move to suburbs and live that lifestyle… I’m not sure you could convince me to move to suburban atlanta and fight the school board battles.

I mean who the hell “forever extinguishes” their property value to avoid property taxes? Like they did at mar a lago? That was essentially selfish of Trump and dumb in RE value. He knew he’d never sell, it was his house. And had no care for what would happen to it after he died.

We really need a better focus on getting D’s elected in local elections. Or at least showing up to contest in purple areas.

Ever thought the defense is actively trying to force a mistrial? Or make the case so messy it gets heavily reviewed on appeal?

A lot of this is not just performative imho. But malicious in objection and obstruction. But I’m not a defense lawyer.
