Home maker, but like literally…
Boob lights have finally found their just usage, back of house utility rooms.

Still ugly.

the most exciting architecture has been happening outside the US. And has been for a while.

It isn't that we can't be creative, it's that our zoning code and neighbors discourage creativity. We really can't leave each other alone.

Heard from a zoning official:

“Just don’t build any basketball courts. Tennis or pickleball. But no basketball. They don’t attract the right kind of people.”

Zoning in the suburbs ladies and gentlemen…

😳

Have trouble shopping for Valentine’s Day?

Get a 4yo daughter. It’s a breeze. She picks out the flowers, balloons, decorations, candy, Barbie toy, crayons, and ice cream.

Happy Valentines.

It took us 100 years to create car centric, un-enjoyable cities and neighborhoods. No reason it won't take 100 years to undue it.

The only time it's been undone quicker is through re-development of mixed use residential. And small (in area) micro-malls.

We need a new funding mechanism for construction loans. One that makes committed projects less vulnerable to fed rates.

We need a TV show where city dwellers swap with suburban dwellers. 2 vastly different worlds of city design. 2 vastly different ways to live.

Traffic isn’t caused by buildings. It’s caused by having buildings far apart.

Or. Traffic is the separation between people are, and where they want to be.

Just got the call. 300+ homes starting construction in January.

Now where is the wife, the music, and the tequila…

Is it bad when the only people that laugh at your sarcastic joke in the company meeting are the accountants?

Based upon their testimony in court I’m 100% certain I wouldn’t hire Trump or his kids to work in RE. Or to run any sort of RE fund.

I always go to my dad for reassurance by asking “things looked super grim and unsolvable like this in 1968-1969 right?” And he always refuses to coddle and says “nah this seems much worse.” Swell.

I hope the bottom of this cycle will kill ugly pendant lights. We just use LED puck lights. Eventually y'all will give up on trying to find the right, unique, ugly pendant and join the dark? side.

No more arguments about height AFF.

Zoning is political & tax exercise...

Both of which are historically proven to result in the worst decisions...
