I get the “no kings” thing but I do desperately wish it was “no billionaires” or “no capitalists”
These people aren’t kings. They are rich and backed by the rich. They only seem to have monarchal power because that’s the reality of a society with an economic ruling class (capitalists in capitalism)

Looked it up and the joke first appeared in 1932, so people using Klarna to pay off a burger in instalments isn't a recession indicator, it's a depression indicator

Like, Elon Musk seems to have demanded—and is being granted—the power to personally control which payments the government makes and doesn't make? Doesn't feel like "Impoundment Control Act" is exactly the thing here anymore.
I thought the coup-iness would be foggier because even though Trump is constitutionally ineligible and won his party's nomination with the help of the threat of violence, he did get more votes in the general election, but it turns out the guy directly seizing and abusing power wasn't elected at all
Is there a word for when a bunch of private citizens following orders from an unelected billionaire occupy government buildings and cut off communications
