Throwback to me in 2009 after a huge flooding event in my city meant my water was shut off for several weeks, and I had to visit a nearby bowser on a daily basis 😄

Watching the Presidential Inauguration live online at the moment. Lowkey in terms of the pomp and circumstance, but very moving nonetheless. Standing ovation for the outgoing Uachtarán, which was lovely to see.

Born on this day in 1632, in Delft, the incomparable painter Johannes Vermeer. What he can do here with the color blue! It's miraculous. The mysteries of that window are infinite.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

I know of at least one autistic 60-something. Given that his mother did NOT had access to ibuprofen when she was pregnant with him, what caused his autism? Did the neurodivergence fairies curse him at his christening or something?
