Profile budgie avatar (Zacky) seems a propos for BlueSky. We had budgies for 30 years, almost all adoptees, and I've volunteered with Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary. Interested in the arts, politics and pressing social issues of our time.
The Retrumplican inner circle are sure letting everyone know while they have little time for credentials & competence they're really big on appearances. "Come on people: no one cares if the book is junk--it's all about the cover!"

It flows from the superficial guy at the top.

In a Google Lens image search I found what may be the originator on Flickr (from 2013):

I think Trump has come to believe, from past outcomes, he can literally claim black is white w/o experiencing meaningful fact checking. This recent story comes to mind (Arkansas soybean farmer filing for bankruptcy after Trump tariffs devastated his livelihood...)

Arkansas soybean farmer filing for bankruptcy still confident Trump's tariffs will pay off any day now
Arkansas soybean farmer filing for bankruptcy after Trump tariffs devastated his livelihood remains steadfast in support of the qualified businessman's trade policies that destroyed his farm.

A few stories in The Tyee suggest Alberta's tar sands are also losing investment appeal to oil companies/buyers because of their extraction expense. This is one re losing appeal re Trump's eye on Venezuelan bitumen. Cranky Alberta looking to federal $ because of this.

Trump’s Coup Plans for Venezuela Are Bad News for Alberta’s Oilsands | The Tyee
A US-engineered regime change would flood the market with cheap, easily accessed bitumen.

When Trump's unqualified, from-the-TV-world-he-knows appointees start trying to prove themselves they come across as punks and flakes (Hegseth, especially, comes to mind.) It would be funny if it weren't so damn dangerous.

We're big Jacques Tati fans in our house. Came across him very late in the day. This reminds me we should watch again.

Wow, unbelievable how relevant this remains. History repeats itself, truly.

It's disappointing the dismissal isn't final and another attorney could resuscitate the revenge prosecutions. What I heard as a layperson re Comey case seemed to document wrong actions by Halligan & potential grounds for dismissal? Malicious prosecutions seemed to be proven by Trump's public stmts.

There were reports today that while X/Twitter recently tagged the geolocation of account holders a lot of high influence MAGA accounts turned out to be posted from places far from the USA. That feature was then removed.

Sometimes I wonder how many Americans know the damage being done to US international relations, and Canada-US relations specifically. The media does report some people's experience of receiving apologies from Americans they meet for their government's actions/insults.

Thank goodness it doesn't only laugh when we hurt, but there's way too much great black humour these days.

Trump's complete servitude to Putin is something that should have triggered alarms among Republicans, especially. The fact it never has is another sign of a country in deep trouble.

No one would gloat about breaking things if they thought they would personally suffer. My husband just mentioned all those people expected to lose jobs to AI and I reminded him how faulty Meta's AI, for one, is proving to be. I'm on my 3rd suspension by Meta's dumb AI this year, millions affected.

Republicans like Mitch McConnell who blocked Trump's impeachment at the Senate twice, the second time over his machinations involving Ukraine, will forever wear all the misdeeds Trump has carried out in both Presidential terms. The country lost its way through immoral self-interest.

What kind of "wheat thins" in which country? For decades Canada had fantastic "stoned wheat thins" from Christie that stopped being available. Have tried a number of imitators or substitutes & haven't found any crackers we like.

Thanks.
