Working with Karama, Kamilia led work to bring activists and potential women leaders from across Sudan together to form a unified agenda. That project not only helped women to respond to crisis when conflict broke, but expanded connections between women's groups, making for more inclusive networks

As a teenager, Zohra joined the Wa'ed network for adolescent girls. There, she gained confidence and skills to talk about issues that were important to her - like climate change and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

This is unfortunately an example of a serious and pressing problem that risks being communicated in a way that is so technical that the public can't fully grasp what's changed: 1.5m people in urgent need of food, &the full Israeli blockade since March means fears more will die from malnutrition.

In #Yemen, a massive women’s protest in Aden demanding urgent action on collapsing basic services like water and electricity, and economic instability. Protesters held banners condemning worsening living conditions and called for sustainable government response.

Israeli forces have killed Palestinian journalists Mohammed Mansour and Hossam Shabat in Gaza.

In 2024, Palestinians accounted for nearly 2/3rds of all journalists killed worldwide, some of them deliberately killed by Israeli forces, per the Committee to Protect Journalists. This is no accident.
