Onto chapter 2 of Pillars if the Earth.
The narration style in this book so far is honestly very beautiful. I cannot wait to see where it goes.

Flowers are the first obvious sign that food is growing.
My cucumber plants have a number of flowers that have started to bloom, and I'm so excited.
Patience is a skill like any other, and the more you work on that skill, the more effectively you can implement it in your every day life. #gardening

Book #19 for 2025 - this one is going to take a while. It's both long (coming in at almost 1,100 pages!) and more complex in terms of language and narration (given that it's not a YA novel).
As of right now, I'm 1 chapter in, and the writing style is incredibly beautiful and enrapturing. #booksky

Book 2 of the Family by Choice universe by Caroline Frechette. This story and narration was a huge step up for the author.
This one kept me gripped from pretty early on. Storyline engaging, characters interesting, and narration immersive to keep me wanting to see what happened next.

I'm already two chapters in, and I'm engaged! The choice to write this specific novel in third person limited instead of first person (like all of the other novels in the Hunger Games universe so far) can't have been an accidental choice. The innate 'othering' of Coriolanus Snow is striking #booksky

Starting The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes today... here's what I've selected for my next 4 books.
Anyone got a strong opinion on which order I should read them in? 📚

Despite trying to start them inside of 3 separate occasions this spring... these basils would only actually sprout in the dirt outside.
I'm not complaining, but I'm a little salty! #gardening #stubbornplants

📖Devoured Sunrise on the Reaping in a single day at the end of May... and can I just say: WOW! 💥Stunning, terrifying, relevant... an excellent story about propaganda, power, and the effects of narrative control. 100% recommendation to be read for anyone who wants to increase media literacy #booksky

Figuring out how best to pursue your goals as a burnt out former gifted kid has been an adventure. I'm building skills and also reinforcing my own needs for rest and recovery. How do you build recovery time into your life?

I've been gone for a minute but I made some sourdough bread today and I'm pretty proud of that 🫶

Up potted my existing seedlings, and planted a bunch more! Even though it's snowing outside, I'm getting ready for growing season 🌱🫶💚

Hoping anyone with any knowledge of luffa growing can help me... are my little baby seedlings going to make it? Any obvious thing I'm missing that can fix them?
Appreciate any and all insight 🫶

Thank you Storygraph for making beautiful little monthly wrap-ups! (Note: all 4 books I read were actually digital, I just couldn't be assed to switch the edition after I started)
Getting back into reading is one of the things keeping me sane, tbh!

this is the one I'm most excited and nervous about - it's completely different from anything I've ever tried and doesn't typically grow in my climate (shorter growing season) so she's going in warm cells soon!!

Today's quest: #baking some sourdough discard crackers!
I've made these before and they were amazing, so what better use for my discard than more crackers!

Crochet granny square for each book I read #4 is Tempt 💙📚
The covers for this series all have a very similar colour palette, so one of my fun challenges is changing up the pattern so they aren't identical... on to book 4 of the Ava Delaney series!

Crocheted granny square for each book I read #3 is Taunt 💙📚
This series is mildly addictive and I regret nothing.
