On the continent of Tatarh, Cribe lies 'tween two countries.

To the south, the vast desert of Tatarij, a land of burning heat, warriors and seemingly endless wealth.

To the north, the forbidden, ancient forests of Elymfaehd, lethal to trespassers and home to a race, said to predate mankind itself.

Magic.

In Cribe, the use of magic is strictly forbidden. With exception of the royal court magus, identified magic users that dare enter the capital, may expect heavy surveillance, being taken into special custody or in the worst case, neutralization. Fear is a powerful catalyst indeed...

Religion.

While common in many other countries, even the concept of worshipping or founding a cult around a higher being, is repugnant to the people of Cribe and late Strupp. Although foreign belief is tolerated, the country is eerily devoid of any religious symbols or places of prayer.

The first king, however, cared little about the struggles within the slums, as he was busy with building up a unified military force and appeasing the noble houses. If rumors of the time are to be believed, he once even referred to the slums as "the second wall" or more morbidly "the flesh wall".

House Hyle always believed in control, power and discipline above anything else. From the earliest of days, they dreamt of ruling the land through fear of their merciless punishments and awfully heartless intrigues. Underestimating House Hyle brought a cruel end to many, even former noble houses.

House Faust always clung to the old traditions and virtues of the land as it once was: bravery, honor and unity.

House Burbos instead built on and expanded what these virtues had created: military prowess and superiority, with soaring ambitions to conquer neighbouring countries.

But House Hyle...

Who am I talking about? I am talking about none other than the elusive troublemakers. Loathed in all Cribe, never seen but always there. Some call them a myth, others a nightmare. I am, of course, talking about...The Underground.

We (a wonderful team of 17 VAs (yet to be revealed?!), and @ejdraws.bsky.social as our artist 💖) are currently working on a ~30 minute long, introductiory episode to the actual story, releasing this year. Think of it as Episode 0 or an appetizer before the main course! 🤤

Yet, mark my words: From these remains something will grow and rise, to force the king to kneel in the shards of his own making, and reassemble what he had once broken.

This promise was broken; shattered into shards so sharp, they could draw blood. And they did.

Nearly a decade ago, a promise was made. It was a promise, to the people of a land without law, but virtue and tradition.
