The four Knights: the Azure, the Crimson, the White and the Black serve the second king not only by protecting him directly, as the name suggests, but also by carrying out the high-command of various military units within the Cribean Army.

Just like the Kingsguard and the Royal Court Magus, he protects and serves the king not merely out of duty, but also out of true companionship. Indeed, the journey which the second king undertook as crownprince, granted him something more valuable than any of his father's treasures: True friendship.

Where the first king prided himself upon his strength in numbers, the second king built on trust and a strong bond with his carefully picked, direct retainers. The "Royal Aegis" is no exception: Standing almost three men tall and one man wide, he protects the king with his life.

One of the most time-consuming aspects of audio work for the audio drama, for me at least, is finding appropriate, non-AI, sound effects to either use directly or bend and layer using the audio tools available, to make it fit. Scene 2 in particular had a lot of interesting challenges to overcome.

Most of the scenes now have their draft ready, some got a bit of feedback to work in and some still need stylistic and volume adjustments, but overall...it's looking quite well!

While common in many other countries, even the concept of worshipping or founding a cult around a higher being, is repugnant to the people of Cribe and late Strupp. Although foreign belief is tolerated, the country is eerily devoid of any religious symbols or places of prayer.

The first king, however, cared little about the struggles within the slums, as he was busy with building up a unified military force and appeasing the noble houses. If rumors of the time are to be believed, he once even referred to the slums as "the second wall" or more morbidly "the flesh wall".

With little more than poverty in abundance, the slums form a thick ring around the inner walls of the capital, while being encircled by the outer walls. Lost in crime, suffering and constant fight for survival, even the city guard gave up patrols in the slum areas further from the gate.

We (a wonderful team of 17 VAs (yet to be revealed?!), and @ejdraws.bsky.social as our artist 💖) are currently working on a ~30 minute long, introductiory episode to the actual story, releasing this year. Think of it as Episode 0 or an appetizer before the main course! 🤤
