He could have released the files at any time, he didn't need Congress to do that, so it's definitely odd for him to say that. Hopefully we'll find out what it all means soon.

Yes! People are beyond tired of a system that shelters the rich and powerful from accountability. That discontent can fuel extremism as people feel more and more disenfranchised.

A real "cost-of-living" adjustment would be to increase worker salaries.

This only benefits people who are already contributing the max amount to their 401k, and leaves people who are actually struggling to save for retirement behind.

Either she believes that, thinks it will boost ratings, or is getting paid to say it. Sick behavior all around.

Agree. Not only is it a waste of money, it is a weaponization of our tax dollars. Trump uses *our* money to enact illegal policies and antagonizing lawsuits, which forces us to use yet more of our money to fight them in court. It's yet another tactic to wear down both the system and the people.

A man-child who's upset that people don't want to live in the techno-fascist surveillance state that he would get to control. Pathetic.

If you called every day, then you at least know you did something. Not everyone can say that. You're doing the right thing. Thank you!

Phone calls do make a difference. More than emails, more than leaving feedback on their website. Do all three, but your representatives will take phone calls the most seriously.

These man children are not worth the attention we pay them, and don't need any more of our money. As studies of worker productivity show, these self-styled innovators have not added much value, and their "solutions" contribute to wealth inequality, worker exploitation, and environmental destruction.

When he's not the center of attention, he starts shutting down.

Agree! Standing against tyranny is something we can all get behind. As much as it pains me to know that there are people who agree with what trump is doing, I know that quite a few of them don't agree with _how_ he is doing it. That, at least, is some common ground Americans can agree on.

I think we desperately need to stop painting this as red vs blue, us vs them. That polarization is what got us here in the first place. Yes, Republicans in Congress have stopped doing their jobs and ceded their role as a coequal branch to Trump. But, the bigger framing is us vs tyranny.

I spent about five hours today in three different polling places in Los Angeles county. All sorts of people came in to vote and the poll workers were well organized and super professional. Nice and friendly, and a little boring. It was great!

Somehow I don't think "Trump critic" will figure all that prominently in the biographies written about Dick Cheney.

On that count he'll be grouped with the other conservative power players who knew Trump was an unscrupulous sleazebag, but thought that he would be "their" unscrupulous sleazebag.

There are also pro-democracy groups like Common Cause supporting volunteer poll monitors in those counties. Poll monitors operate under strict guidelines to not interfere with voters or poll workers.

I will be volunteering today as a poll monitor. It's my first time, but I felt it was important.
