Yet another (not) sunlit day in #Greece.

What about the learning process? :( That's where all the fun is!

Fantastic news! I prefer to wait for the videos, but I'm so eager to follow this civilization's path, that I may give the audio an early try.

I got stuck at verb conjugation and never found the patience to continue.

The Greek version would probably say Πήγασος, though. Even more so since it's about branding.

Learning them as a hobby or for studies is one thing, expecting to be understood in the street is another.

I've discovered that many people, especially non-Europeans, think it's the same language. It's not strange. Modern culture is not as advertised as ancient culture. When people hear "Greek", they hear "Plato".

Because we're taught ancient Greek at school, it's not impossible to understand a large portion of the text, but you can't expect a good "translation" from the average person. Older people who know Katharevousa will have an easier time.

The core mechanics are similar, but people will struggle with grammar patterns, "short words" and meanings that have evolved or disappeared.

I use shortcuts.
The one that really tries my patience is the άνω τελεία· (upper dot). I need codes such as Alt 0903 and it also depends on the OS. I saved the symbol in a shortcut.

I also have a separate document with all the accents I need in my languages, and I use it to copy-paste.

I colour-code when I start a new language and everything is new and shiny. Or, when I restart learning after a long hiatus, because I feel guilty.

I find colour-coding useful and practical, but to be honest, when I study, I lose myself completely in my task and I am too distracted to organize. 😳

I wouldn't hold my breath, they will probably roll out the new one after some fixes. It's part of their AI thing and it has to cater to their AI features.
