Green on the outside, red on the inside, with some black anarchist pips for good measure
Sometimes I can’t help but recall Mao Zedong’s famous words: Our study of the laws of revolutionary war stems from our desire to abolish all wars; this is the dividing line between us communists and all exploitative classes. (Mao Zedong, 1936)

Hey, what’s going on with the left? We desperately argue for Hamas’s right to resist (I believe we all should acknowledge that Hamas is not some proletarian workers’ organisation), yet we nitpick over the Ukraine issue.

To be honest, Polanski's view that NATO has problems because of Trump is too conservative for some people in the Green. But as I mentioned, Green Party members have previously passed the latest position at the conference, which is to stay in NATO and reform it. This has not been changed.

If you want to split hairs, then in the passage you quoted, he doesn’t mention “withdrawal” at all. He said he doesn't think anyone should consider Trump a reliable ally. Will you?

Perhaps other parties differ, but the Green Party leader does not determine the Green Party’s policy. The Green Party’s policy is always decided by the party conference. But I must say, I don’t think he meant that the UK has to leave NATO right now.

More and more people, all with friendly faces, were coming and singing anti-alt-right songs.

There were similar demonstrations all over England that night, but the far right didn't show up.

I will never forget that night.

And, the night when there was talk of a nationwide riot.

It was a late summer's evening, an evening that already required a jacket, and I stood at attention in a small group of anti-alt-right protesters.

I'll never forget that week.

Accidentally being squeezed into the middle of a far-right demonstration in Manchester while covering a story, surrounded by the roar of the demonstrators;

The fear of looking at the marks on the lawn in Bristol and being told they were about to lose my defences;

Because, if the British government's rationale for the ban is followed, there is no reason why the same government should not support the Hong Kong government's so-called 'efforts' to combat 'riots' and 'terrorism' in the wake of the mass protests in 2019.
