"These meetings are distracting me from the work."

The meetings are the work. Sorry.

The fact that your org doesn't value meetings and doesn't put any effort into making them more effective is a symptom of a broader pattern of ignoring feminized "glue work" in favor of Big Masculine Outputs.
The glue is the work
Tech orgs only function thanks to people who volunteer for thankless "glue work." This is the space where UX lives; for the field to get respect we need to make this work visible.

humbled to be invited to talk about meaningful use cases to use AI during #nytechweek! I also shared things like how the LLM-powered curation tool I built for a large-scale marketplace understood my prompt for *cowboy core collection* as “outfits from the wild west” and not “cool like Beyoncé” 😓

Happy mother’s day! To celebrate, my brother and I pre-ordered my mom a cake based on the Taiwanese national treasure, the Jadeite Cabbage. It is a symbol of auspiciousness and longevity, which is exactly the vibe we are going for on this day and everyday for our mother 🥬

Our elephant ear sprung up this new “limb”… I then learned that it is actually a flower bud! We have had it for 4 yrs and didn’t even know it *could* flower. Apparently this happens when the plant is mature, cosy & thriving. 😌🌱

Light spread to welcome our friends this weekend- husband’s sourdough crackers, homemade taiwanese scallion buns, upstate apples, and heirloom tomatoes. Also roasted zucchini just so we can say we had vegetables.

Currently planning a hobbits themed valentine’s day dinner menu- the vibe we are going for is cosy, carbsy, rustic, soul-nourishing delight. Any recipe recommendations?

Food is the best way to celebrate💛🎄✨
Send me pictures of the food you’re eating for Christmas. I love the global variety in the stuff people do.

Happy caturday! My neighbor’s cat Oreo always comes out to greet us when we make our annual trip back to taiwan 💜. She walks more slowly now that she’s 17 but still super sassy 💁🏻‍♀️

lately i have been anticipating dread for a series of events. but then i reminded myself it is up to *me* how i feel. so i’ve started intentionally replacing dread with curiosity instead. As in im curious about how events could unfold instead with humor, empathy, & lightness. And they did ✨

I'll never forget the staff meeting where the senior engineer, who always knitted during meetings, said at the ending, "Well, I got an inch of sock out of that; I don't know what the rest of you got."

She went on to become a professional sock designer and wrote a book on reading charts.
