Science and Education are undefeated. Plenty of stories to tell, and they're all true.
That's me back in the day, with the 'Black Like Me" author, John Howard Griffin.

After a University Fraternity was caught performing a Cross Burning ritual in Confederate regalia, I went in a hunger strike and picketed their House until all student organizations publicly denounced racism. It took four days. You have no idea how good green tea can taste on an empty stomach.
Back in Tulsa First time in 30 years. These little plaques are everywhere in Greenwood. Reconciliation is key. Glad to see progress.

Nice scoop from DOJ whisperer Sadie Gurman and C Ryan Barber in the WSJ: How the FBI finally found the DNC/RNC pipe bomber, and how it had nothing to do with new leadership. (Gift link.)

How do you gerrymander in UTAH? The whole state is...you know...stolen by, run by, serviced by, pretty much the same people.
NEW: Last week, Utah GOP lawmakers voted to reject a court-ordered congressional map. While the move was largely ceremonial, it signals their intent to ask the state Supreme Court — and potentially SCOTUS — to uphold their recently rejected gerrymander.

🏆On night two of Hanukkah, we spotlight North Carolina's Supreme Court election.

Republican Jefferson Griffin tried to overturn his loss to Democrat Allison Riggs by challenging 68k votes. After six months, he conceded, and Riggs' victory was certified.

Holy $#!t! Drumpf and company are out of their minds. They think this is a movie made for an audience (that is getting smaller and smaller) hungry for explosions and slo-mo walkoffs.

My closest friends lead fairly privileged lives. I worry about them being able to empathize with people of no privilege. I was telling one of them the other day exactly where my house keys are, in case I am arrested. I explained that "If I see ICE grabbing someone, I'm jumping in...etc". I have to.

I just want to put this here. I have spent more than 60yrs bucking the system. But...I've spent about 25 of those in military and federal, state, and local govt service. So, don't get it twisted. I'm a patriot. But I'm speaking out in ways that will probably attract the attention of bigots in govt.

Once the ICE raids started receiving national media attention, my body responded viscerally. I instinctively shed dozens of online friendships, even wrote some farewells. My life is better w/out feeling doubts about where some people stand. Because there's little else to do now but throw hands.

If indicting a past US AG out of spite makes the country a banana republic; what do 400+ years of enabling wyt privilege make? Sometimes I think Drumpf proves how destructive privilege truly is. But other times, he proves its staying power.

NEWS ROUNDUP: Last week, the Trump administration escalated its use of Charlie Kirk’s murder to target progressive politics, while the DOJ stepped up its efforts against voting rights by suing Democratic states. Catch up on all the key updates below👇

All assassinations belong in every school history class. jfk, medger evers, malcom, rfk, mlk, melissa hortman, kirk. They only create more entrenchment and they don't remove ideas. I don't know what motivated Kirk's killer, but I can't imagine a single justification for murder.

I can't honestly say that I'd never see this day coming, because the reality is I've been preparing for it for as long as I can remember. And to be clear you can be nice and succeed without hating your opposition. The main thing is making the decision to jump in the fight and get dirty.

I helped a motorist stranded at an intersection today. It was a mom with a child in back. I walked up to help. I could see she was Russian. We spoke Russian. Her husband was on the way she said. She wanted to move the car to a parking space. I pushed. She steered. The kid cheered. Life is good.

My problem is not with #Newsome the person. Rather the battle against Drumpf's supporters #maga who use the same logic as Newsome. In politics my glee may be a new drug. Social apps like frivolous crackbacks and smackdowns, when in reality, actual policy change (good and bad) is a long slog.

....Because that's exactly what's happening. Drumpf and Co. are f-ing crazy.
Instead of being solely preoccupied with unnecessary foreign wars, maybe we should have spent more time worrying about the United States government going to war against its own people.

I block accounts promoting hate, making fun of appearance, advocating for harm, what people claim their enemies do. I choose peace. People that promote anger online remind me of who'd watch a lynching. Piling on/ganging up is a red flag. I also rarely repeat common phrases/terms. My page. My rules.
